Full of wonder and mystique, Mysterious Object at Noon expertly embraces amateurity and intuition. With a small crew shooting candid strangers in modest 16mm black and white film, the film comes off as an honest experimental act of storytelling. Relying heavily on the ‘exquisite corpse’ technique, one stranger after the next continues a single story without knowing what has come before. Neither the filmmakers nor the participants know what the film will become. In part of this, Mysterious Object at Noon feels otherworldly as watch these weird strangers tell this strange story.
